Former Petronas Manager Jailed for 10 Years for Accepting Bribe

A former manager for Malaysian state-owned oil and gas company Petronas was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined RM2.012 million (US $569,197) on four counts of receiving bribes totaling RM403,000 (US $114,009).

Idris M. Shuhud, 49, was accused of purchasing and renovating a house with the bribes he received from Penaga Orbit and Genius Response director Kamaruddin Mohd Daud in return for approving Technical Bids Evaluation, Commercial Bids Evaluation and Services Completion Certificates, according to the report.

Shuhud was also found guilty of four counts of money laundering.
