Greece: Parliament refers former defense minister on money laundering charges

Greek lawmakers have voted to refer former defense minister Yiannos Papantoniou to Justice to face money laundering charges. Papantoniou will not face breach of trust against the State charges, however, meaning the file will now be sent directly to the prosecutor already handling the case and parliament will not set up its own investigative committee.

Papantoniou and his wife were sentenced to prison in 2015 for tax evasion before being charged with money laundering earlier this year.
