Turkmenistan Applies For Membership In Int’l Group Of Financial Intelligence Services

Turkmenistan has applied for membership in the Egmont Group, which facilitates the rapid exchange of information with financial intelligence services of other countries, Turkmen Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Silap Velbegov said.

Velbegov made the remarks at the OSCE Regional Conference on Countering Terrorist Financing and Organized Crime in Ashgabat.

“Turkmenistan pays special attention to the international cooperation and actively interacts with the UN, OSCE, CIS, the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism and other organizations in the field of combating the financing of terrorism,” Velbegov added, Trend reports referring to the OSCE.
